Founded in 1974, Bay of Islands Swimming Club is a friendly, non-profit community organisation dedicated to helping swimmers of all ages and abilities develop their skills, confidence, and love for the water. Based at the indoor heated pool in Kawakawa, we provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment for everyone—from beginners to competitive swimmers chasing personal bests. Surrounded by the beauty of the Bay of Islands, our club is powered by volunteers, driven by passion, and united by the joy of swimming.

Located at 1-9 Derrick Street, Kawakawa, the Kawakawa Pools are the proud home of the Bay of Islands Swimming Club. This modern 25-metre heated indoor pool features starting blocks and dedicated lanes for training, making it the perfect venue for both everyday swimming and high-energy competition. Throughout the year, the pool hosts swim carnivals and club events, drawing swimmers from across Northland to race, improve skills, and connect as a community. With a welcoming atmosphere and a strong tradition of aquatic excellence, Kawakawa Pools is where swimmers of all levels can dive in and thrive.
